Jason builds all his furniture in his workshop in Bronte. His timber slabs are sourced from already felled trees lying unused on farming properties of southern Queensland. Most of his work is with Blue Gums between 500 and 1500 years old but he also uses avocado, mango, pine and camphor laurel timber. Part of Jason’s art is to allow the characteristics of each piece of raw timber to determine what he will create from it. The final products are as unique and individual as the trees from which they come. Burl gallery is known for its one slab solid timber tables which can be as long as 5m.
