Christy is daughter of famous aboriginal artist Joanne Currie Nalingu, who recently won Wynne Price for landscape and figure sculpture in Archibald competition. Christy has strong connection to her mum"s birthplace at Mitchell in South East Queensland on the Maranoa River Bank which reflects in her paintings.
Christy is using mostly dot and linear patterns based on elemental flow and energy of water designs, however sometimes the line are fused with geometric shield patterns. Christy"s work is unique due to her exceptional selection of colours. In her painting Christy reinvents aboriginal cultural tradition in wide range of modern pastels shades. It just depends on you which colour could inspire your room, home or office the best.
